ORDER: street cart fries w/ the feta on the side
If you’re ever craving fries, go do yourself a favor and get the “street cart fries” at Spitz. This is how it works. You start with either regular fries, sweet potato, or both. I did both, because I’m greedy like that. And in case you’re wondering why the hell I’m writing about fries, I’ll tell you why. These aren’t your mother’s fries. Or your father’s. Or my cousin, Vinny’s. They’re fries on steroids after making out with a Mediterranean street performer. I can only describe them as a satisfying carb bomb smothered in garlic aioli, topped with a hearty garnish of onion, green pepper, olives, pepperoncinis, and feta. I of course, got the feta on the side, because as you know, this is a blog for lactards. We don’t mess around with feta, but sometimes those near and dear to us do. And we envy them, always, and only love them a little less for being able to process dairy when we can’t. And if you’re feeling extra frisky, or just craving meat because of some sort of vitamin deficiency, you can top the whole thing off with a a choice of beef, lamb, or chicken. But that’ll cost ya extra, because there’s no such thing as a free lunch…meat add-on.
